Introduction
Department of Pharmacology is headed by Prof. Dr. Rabiea Bilal. The department is rigorously involved in teaching Medical, Dental, Nursing & Allied Health Sciences students at undergraduate level. Appropriate course goals, content and assessment methods are formulated and are in place for undergraduate teaching. Faculty is utilizing multiple teaching strategies with feedback from students to make learning a better experience for them. We have well equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art facilities to carry out invitro studies for better understanding of drugs mechanisms of action and dose related effects. Clinical scenarios-based tutorial sessions help students to bridge the gap between basic and clinical sciences. Research culture is promoted by active functioning of Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) and Animal Research Lab in college premises headed by Prof. Rabiea herself. It aids in the study of effects of drugs and comparative drug studies in animal models. The HOD has a number of publications in national & international peer reviewed journals and has an Impact score of over 15. Her research interests are in Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacogenetics.
