Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics

Department of Pharmacology in CMH Lahore Medical College is recognized for highly skilled teaching. It is well equipped with laboratory and museum. The laboratory contains high tech equipment which is used to observe the effects of different drugs on different organs in animals (Experimental Pharmacology). It forms the basis of research for students and prepares the students to treat the different diseases by using drugs. There is museum (containing old herbs to modern medicines) and a lecture theater for conducting lectures and tutorials.

Dr. Shahnaz Aftab

MBBS, M.Phil Professor and Head of Department

Dr. Shahnaz Aftab did her MBBS from Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore in 1974, and M.Phil (Pharmacology) from Postgraduate Medical Institute Lahore in 1985. She has been teaching Pharmacology for the last 29 years in various medical colleges like Fatima Jinnah Medical College, King Edward Medical College, Nishter Medical College and Rawalpindi Medical College. She is the pioneer member of the faculty of the Department of Pharmacology of CMH Lahore Medical College.
