Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, CMH Lahore Medical College

Pharmacology in its broadest sense encompasses the study of all compounds that interact with the body.

Our teaching program is patterned in accordance with PMDC and UHS curriculum with necessary modifications in content and emphasis to make it congruent with our objectives and needs. In our program a total of 200 hrs are given in 2 parts:-

1.      General Pharmacology:-

Which deals with basic principles applied to drugs

2.      Special Pharmacology and Therapeutics:-

Which deals with major classes of drugs, their mechanism of action, Pharmacological and Therapeutics properties and adverse effects. Special emphasis is placed on clinical pharmacology which provides information on therapeutic management of diseases safety, effectiveness and adverse drug reactions.

All latest teaching methods are employed. The basic is taught using didactic approach dependent on lectures, laboratory exercises, seminars and discussion and the clinical component follows the tutorial educational approach with PBL sessions to equip learners with both knowledge and strategy.

She graduated from King Edward Medical University in 2009. She is certified in emergency trauma course and basic life support. She has also attended and participated in various medical seminars and conferences. She did her internship in medicine, cardiology and dermatology at Mayo hospital.

            She is involved in demonstration of practical and tutorial classes in CMH Lahore Medial College for the last 1 year.

DR. MEHWISH BHATI

Demonstrator

She is a graduate of Sheikh Zayed Medical College, RVK and did her house job

in general medicine and paeds medicine in Mayo hospital Lahore. She has recently

done FCPS part I in medicine. She got distinction in Behaviour Sciences.

            She was secretary of annual sports and research club, an active member of

arts and cultural society, wrote various skits and plays, won many debate competitions and hosted many college events in SZMC.



DR. SUNDUS UDNAN RIND

Demonstrator

She is a graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore. She did her house job

from Jinnah Hospital Lahore in medicine and surgery. She recently joined CMH

Lahore Medical College Lahore as demonstrator.

                        During her student life, she attained numerous academic distinctions

and gold medals. She has a keen interest in art and is a highly creative individual..

She writes poetry and short stories under a pen name. She is a dedicated dynamic individual, determined to make a change by her hard work and positive outlook.
