Organizational Structure

CMH Lahore Medical College & Institute of Dentistry has been established to improve health care facilities of CMH Lahore, provide a quality institution for medical education and a research forum for promotion of health care in native environment. Ministry of Health has approved establishment of this college vide their letter No. F 3- 10/2007-MER dated 15th May 2007. Operating on non profit basis, it is governed by a Board of Management, Executive Committee, Principal and Academic Council under the supervision of Corps Headquarters.


Principal
Professor Dr. Syed Afzal Ahmad

He was born in 1947. He did his MBBS in 1970 from Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi. He was commissioned in Army Medical Corps in 1971. His postgraduation qualifications are MCPS, FCPS (Pak), FCPS (BD) and FPAMS.

He did on job training in cardiac surgery from St. Thomas Hospital London. He worked as General Surgeon till 1978 and from 1978 onwards as cardiac surgeon.

  • Member of Faculty of Cardiac Surgery, College of Physicians and Surgons Pakistan.

  • President Pakistan Society of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgeons

He commanded Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology and National Institute of Heart Disease from 2001 to 2004. Keeping in view in his meritorious services rendered to Army and the country, he was appointed as Surgeon General Pakistan Army in December 2004. On his retirement from Pakistan Army, he joined this College as Principal on March 01, 2007.


Vice Principal
Professor Dr. Muhammad Younis Mubashir

He was born in Lahore and did MBBS from Nishtar Medical College, Multan. He was commissioned in Army Medical Corps in 1979. He did MSc (Advanced Medical Administration) from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, with Gold Medal. He is also a member of the Board of Studies, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. During his service in Army, he worked on various command and staff appointments including Command of 'A' class hospital, Assistant Commandant Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute Rawalpindi, Instructor AFPGMI, and Brigadier Research and Evaluation in General Headquarters Rawalpindi.


Dean of Institute of Dentistry
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim Saeed

He graduated from Nishtar Medical College (Bahuddin Zikria University) Multan. He did his Doctrate from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2001. He possesses teaching and clinical experience from abroad and Pakistan. He has a number of publication to his credit in international and national journals.
