The Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry has been in the forefront of coalition with the community. In recent past the Department has grown to even greater level.

The Department faculty teaches the second year BDS students through dynamic and highly interactive sessions. Besides the institutional learning, the Department faculty also has field trips for the undergraduate student to understand the health system of Punjab and how the masses of the population get the treatment.

The Department is also engaged in community awareness and oral health program entitled “School Dental Program”. This program caters to 16,000 school going children. The primary goal of this program is to provide awareness to the parents of the oral conditions of their child and supportive treatment at the Institute of Dentistry to cure the problems.

The demonstration of proper brushing technique and avoidance of junk food is highlighted at every school campus.
