CMH Lahore Medical College

On successful completion of its second academic session, CMH Lahore Medical College is going to launch its 4-year BDS degree program from the session 2008-09. Initially 50 BDS students will be inducted in session 2008-09. Institute of Dentistry has been established in the new campus in a state of the art purpose-built building constructed on modern lines to meet the future requirements of under- and post-graduate academic programs in the various disciplines of dental surgery.

The Institute of Dentistry has its own lecture theatres equipped with multimedia projectors, sound system and allied teaching aids. Ninety dental operatory systems are in process of installation in different departments. The following basic sciences departments have been established:

• Human Anatomy, Osteology & Embryology

• Human Physiology

• Biochemistry

• Chemistry of Dental Materials

• Dental Anatomy, Histology and Tooth Morphology

The department specific to dentistry established in the Institute are:

• Prosthodontics and Implantology

• Restorative Dentistry

• Operative Dentistry

• Preventive Dentistry

• Pedodontics

• Endodontics

• Crown and Bridges

• Orthodontics

• Periodontology and Oral Medicine

• Oral Surgery

• Maxillofacial surgery

• Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery

The Maxillofacial Surgery Department is having its own, independent and dedicated operation theater with latest general anesthesia equipment and supply of central gases. It is fully functional where all kinds of maxillofacial procedures like bone plating, tumor removal and orthognothic surgery are carried out.

Central sterilization system has been established by a world renowned company in the field with various checks at different stages of sterilization in accordance with the requirements of health agencies.
