Department of Biochemistry

Department of Biochemistry like other departments has been established on the basis of the fundamental requirements of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. It has a well equipped laboratory being managed by qualified and experienced technical staff. Biochemistry laboratory is equipped with all required lab equipment to perform experiments. The equipments include centrifuges, controlled temperature water bath, spectrophotometers, hot air oven, magnetic stirrers, digital balance, electric water distillation apparatus, microscopes, etc.

Dr. Nasreen Sharif: MBBS, MPhil (Punjab)

Designation: Professor & Head of Department

Dr. Nasreen Sharif did her MBBS in 1969 from Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore and completed M.Phil (Biochemistry) in 1980. She has been involved in teaching Biochemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels since 1971 at various medical institutes. She worked as Professor and HOD of Biochemistry at Fatima Jinnah Medical College and PGMI Lahore. Her 18 scientific papers have been published in various scientific journals. Presently she is working as professor and head of Biochemistry Department.

Col (R) Dr. Zubair Ahmad: MBBS, M.Phil (Karachi), FCPS

Designation: Associate Professor

Col (R) Dr. Zubair Ahmad has recently joined Department of Biochemistry, as associate Professor. He worked in Army Medical College Rawalpindi. (Other details will be available soon)

Dr. Naheed Z. Razwi: M.Sc, M.Phil (Punjab), Ph.D (Punjab)

Designation: Associate Professor

She did M.Sc. (Biochemistry) in 1975, from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad & then did M.Phil in Biochemistry in 1981 from. PGMI, Lahore. She completedr Ph.D from the University of Punjab, Lahore, recently. She has been involved in teaching Biochemistry since 1975. Her five scientific publications have been published in scientific journals. She worked as Head of Biochemistry Department at Dubai Medical College UAE, for several years.

Dr. Murad Khan: MBBS, M.Phil (Punjab)

Designation: Associate Professor and FCPS Part-II Fellow/Trainee

He did MBBS from Nishtar Medical College Multan and has been involved in academic assignments of diverse nature since 1989, as a biochemistry teacher and/or as a postgraduate fellow, in institutions like Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, BMSI, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) Karachi, Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore, School of Allied Health Sciences (Institute of Child Health) Lahore, and UHS Lahore. He has developed several biomedical software programs recognized worldwide. His more than 20 scientific articles have been published in scientific journals. Dr. Iram Fayyaz: MBBS, DCH (Glasgow), M.Phil (UHS)

Designation: Assistant Professor

She is a graduate of Rawalpindi Medical College and did MPhil in biochemistry from University of Health Sciences Lahore. She has worked as Demonstrator Biochemistry in Shifa College of Medicine Islamabad and Lahore Medical and Dental College Lahore. Presently she is serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry.

Dr. Shazia Rasheed: MBBS

Senior Lecturer

She is a graduate of FJMC, Lahore. She has previously worked as Demonstrator in FJMC and as , Senior Demonstrator in Sharif Medical and Dental City. Dr Shazia is currently working as a Senior Demonstrator in our college

Major (R) Dr. Saadia Shahzad: MBBS

Designation: Lecturer

She joined Pakistan Army in 1989 and severed till zoos. She had been teaching Biochemistry in Army Medical College for four years. Currently she is working as a demonstrator in the department of Biochemistry.

Dr. Aamenah Malik: MBBS

Designation: Senior Lecturer

She is a graduate of King Edward Medical College, Lahore (2004). She completed one year training in internal medicine from SGRH, Lahore & CMH Okara.

Dr. Huma Ashraf: MBBS

Designation: Senior Lecturer

She did her MBBS from Fatima Jinnah Medical College Lahore. She has qualified Medical Transcription Course and has worked in PIMS Islamabad and Mayo Hospital Lahore.

Dr. Afshan Sohail: MBBS
